My name is Bayley Clayton and I am the School Counselor at Troy Hills School. As
the school counselor, I work with teachers and parents to help children achieve
their fullest academic, social, and emotional potential.
The Troy Hills 5th grade students are currently completing their Peacemaker
Training lessons. Peacemakers volunteer their time to assist others with problem
solving and conflict resolution at recess. They help students in conflict come up with
a “win-win” solution!
Our character education theme for this year is “Hop, Hop, Hooray for Great
Character!” When a Troy Hills staff member sees a student demonstrating our
character trait of the month, the student will receive a paper frog with his or her
name written across it. The frogs are displayed on our bulletin board outside of the
main office for everyone to see! At the end of the month, we recognize these
students on the morning announcements by reading each of their names.
This year our students will show what it means to have great character! To kick off
our 2017-2018 school year, we will focus on showing Responsibility. October’s
character trait of the month will be Respect, with the Week of Respect celebrated
from Oct. 2nd through 6th.
Throughout the year, I visit classrooms to deliver lessons focused on character
education. These lessons and activities are designed to help children develop decision
making and problem solving skills, as well as a better understanding and acceptance
of themselves.
In addition to classroom lessons, I also:
• Facilitate small groups
• Meet with students individually
• Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and other school personnel
Please contact me if you have any concerns or requests for assistance regarding
your child. I look forward to working with your child during the 2017-2018 school
year!
