The speech program provides services to children in the areas of articulation, language, auditory processing, voice, and fluency. The speech-language specialist receives referrals from parents and teachers for children whose speech-language skills negatively impact their academic performance. The speech-language specialist evaluates, determines eligibility for, and provides speech-language therapy. Therapy is provided in 30-minute sessions, usually once or twice per week.

If you believe that your child has a speech or language problem, which negatively affects his/her educational performance, please contact the speech-language pathologist.

Carolyn Lynch, Speech-Language Pathologist

Hi, I am Ms. Lynch, the Speech Language Pathologist here at Troy Hills Elementary School.I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland.  After graduating I took a number of graduate level classes in both Audiology and Speech Pathology.  I decided I wanted to work with children as a Speech Language Pathologist. I received my Master of Science in Communication Disorders in 2000 from William Paterson University.  I began my professional career in the public schools in Teaneck district and then came to Parsippany district in 2001, where I have worked for the last 20 years. My goal is that each of my students feel successful and are achieving success independently by the time they are finished with my program.

Katherine Capara, Speech-Language Pathologist

Hi, I’m Mrs. Caprara, one of the Speech-Language Pathologists at Troy Hills Elementary.  I graduated from Kean University where I received both my Bachelor’s in Speech and Hearing (Minor in Psychology) and Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology. I have worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist for 8 years. Prior to accepting my position for Parsippany Public Schools in 2019, I worked with Middle School and High School students in Clifton for 3 years and in the NJ Early Intervention Program for 4 years. The best part of my job is being able to watch my students blossom and take pride in themselves as they progress toward their goals. When I am not working, you can find me running after my two children Robbie and Sophia!
